This tree is said to be 1800 years old!!!
I wonder how they know? Probably through some mathematical tree formula!šµāš«
Here in the mission field time is measured by transfer cycles which is every 6 weeks. Seasoned missionaries go home, new missionaries come in.

Saturday we fixed breakfast for the incoming 27 missionaries. Suitcases and bedding. Dinner at the Quinn's, Sister and Elder Larsen-- she is a genius at planning and organizing, he is a genius at finance.
Then it's a week of zone conferences.
During zone conferences President & Sister Quinn, the APs (assistants to the President), Zone leaders and Sister Trainers, the Tech Elders (over technology), and us-- over vehicles and housing, give lessons on how to be better missionaries.

Our presentation is based on safety and bringing the spirit through cleanliness in their cars and apartments. We also inspect cars-- fill up window washer fluid, check oil levels, tire pressure, cleanliness inside and out, and a list of other things. The tech elders helped us in all the zones except for their own. We inspected 60 cars this week.
We have 8 zones in our mission. This was our schedule:

The Stake Relief Society in each zone prepares lunch--this week we had spaghetti, tacos, chili, chicken and rice casserole and roast!

On Sunday, we drove 3.5 hours north to Eureka. It's a beautiful forest-filled drive. We stopped at The Grandfather Tree on the way.

On Monday as we drove to Ukiah we stopped at a Bigfoot gift shop.

Before heading back to Santa Rosa on Tuesday, we inspected a few apartments in Ukiah-- the Elders and Sisters were still in meetings, but they knew that we were going to be visiting their apartments.
Finding them was a bit of a challenge-- out in the farmlands. We ended up driving home later than we wanted--in the rain. Thank you!ā¤ļø Heavenly Father for getting us home safely!

We went down Highway 175 -- it was twists and turns and with the glare from headlights on the wet road made it quite stressful--only once will we do that!
The week was filled with inspiration and perspiration as we listened, taught, inspected and drove.

Sister Brockbank is a young talented missionary in our mission. She did some of the windows in the Feather River Temple. Her light is bright! She shared the following renditions with me:

Why am I here? Because of HIM!!! 18 months-- a small amount of time in any way that it is measured.
Have you heard Him call you? Come, come and see! Come! Come and find joy-- even when the world is in chaos. Find joy in Him and His gospel.
