Sunday we traveled 4 hours north to the Eureka zone for conference on Monday.

Golds and greens along the way. The gold is dry grass-- fires are a BIG threat.

Temperatures dropped 20° by the time we arrived in Eureka.

We passed a small fire on the way

Further north was all forests-- such a beautiful drive!

These plants lined the street where we stopped for dinner.

At the conferences we all stood to say this. Roger did a 15 minute presentation on car safety, I basically bore my testimony:

"I hadn't planned on serving a mission, but was Called to serve! I heeded the call, but it has been difficult. 'I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.' As I trust in Him, I am strengthened."

The music and messages were inspiring. At the first conference, we stayed to most of the training, but also had to inspect cars, so we never heard everything.

When it ended, we drove south about 3 hours to Ukiah. Humboldt State Park was right on our way, so we enjoyed a small section of highway called "The Avenue of the Giants." Hooray!!!-- Redwood forests.

We stayed in Ukiah Monday night for zone conference on Tuesday then drove back to Santa Rosa. I was starting to wonder where my real bed was!

The rest of the week was about the same -- travel, conference, repeat!

In each area, the relief society would furnish lunch-- funded by the mission.-- it was so appreciated AND yummy!

I was responsible for collecting receipts (I found this out at the 3rd area!😵‍💫 Thankfully, Sister Quinn had gathered the previous ones.😔)

When we weren't seeing greens, golds, or forests, we were seeing vineyards.

As I mentioned, we inspected cars during the training-- 2 young Elders helped us-- altogether we inspected about 70 cars-- oil, washer fluid, safety features, cleanliness etc. Today-Friday was the last one here in Santa Rosa-- here we go! We are glad to be back!

Tomorrow is our regular Prep Day, but we have a visiting 70 (General Authority) coming to visit in 2 weeks, so we are going to deep clean the office tomorrow-- ok then! Busy is good! Hurrah for Is-ra-el!
