9-24-23 Baby Steps

We are settling in a bit. Still so much to learn! I can do all things... and little things, too. I try to stay busy and find things I can do.

Monday I was met with a sweet note from a Sister companionship-- I appreciated their thoughtfulness.

We have 6 Senior Couples coming in from now till Christmas. I felt like they need a welcome packet, so I worked at getting a few things put together: health safety book, the proclamations, a phone # list, a cleaning schedule, our mission theme and the 3rd verse of Called to Serve.

Whenever we meet as a zone etc. we recite Our Purpose (the first 2 scriptures). The last one is my personal reminder.

Then I worked at breaking down boxes from our Friday-Saturday apartment set up. How is this missionary work you ask? It freed up the young elders to do their work-- I'm here to bless them, and happy to do so! I wish I had taken a before and after photo of the trailer filled with empty boxes, but didn't--oh well.

Thursday after work, I found a trail to explore-- Roger waited for me in the car.

Friday found us traveling again-- yup, back to Woodland, to pick up the forms we had left for our new vendor. We also visited a new SR couple at their RV. They're young! Late 40s. They took a year off work to serve!

We also delivered some Books of Mormon to the SR couple in Vallejo. This is the ward building we went to to meet them.

We actually had a p-day (preparation day) on Saturday! Cleaned, rested, groceries.

I'm into Missionary Portal! It's where I can find things I need to do-- but oh my! We had 27 unsafe houses-- which basically means the missionaries haven't tested their CO/smoke detectors. I called all of them. That reduced the # to 14. I texted them. That reduced the # to 8. I called them. We're now down to two. I'm now going to nag them until it's 0.
